American Cowboys Test Swami vivekananda
Once, a few American cowboys attended a lecture by Swami Vivekananda, where he spoke about how the self-realized remain equanimous in all circumstances. Intrigued—and skeptical—they decided to test him. They invited Swamiji to speak again at a gathering, and he readily agreed. As he stood on the podium and began his talk, within two minutes, loud gunshots cracked through the air. Bullets flew all around him—left, right, near his feet—intentionally missing but clearly meant to intimidate and test his composure. Swami Vivekananda, unshaken, continued his speech as though nothing had happened. His voice never wavered, his face remained calm. After he finished, the cowboys gathered around him, amazed and filled with respect. They cheered and congratulated him for his strength, courage, and unwavering calm. Though far from India, amid fame and strangeness, Swamiji remained as serene as a yogi in a Himalayan cave. Tags |
