Divine mercy comes to us in two ways; 'Anukul rupey' and 'prtikul rupey', that is, through favourable circumstances and through unfavourable circumstances, when it comes to us through favourable circumstances, both the devotee and the non-devotee feel happy. When it comes through unfavourable circumstances, the non-devotee is unhappy and upset and he complains of God's injustice.   8. The true devotee understands the ways of God. Through suffering, trials and tribulations God is actually clearing the path of the devotee. It is his way of dispelling the results of the devotee's karma, so that he can be drawn faster to his lotus feet. Without this suffering, it would take many births for the devotee to find salvation.
