Ramakrishna Paramahansa foretells about the hidden greatness

humility of greatness

Once, Acharya Keshab Chandra Sen of the Brahmo Samaj and the revered devotee Vijayakrishna Goswami visited Dakshineshwar. After their departure, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa turned to his disciples and said:

“I saw the light of wisdom in them—it was bright like the flame of a candle. But the light in Naren shines like the Sun itself.”

Naren was present in the audience. Hearing his Guru's words of high praise stirred something within him—not pride, but discomfort. With a touch of irritation, he stood up and said:

“What are you saying? People will think you’ve lost your mind. Keshab is a world-renowned thinker, and Vijayakrishna is a true saint. I’m just an ordinary person. Please, I beg you—don’t speak such things again.”

Sri Ramakrishna looked at him with deep affection and calm certainty.
“My child,” he replied, “what can I do? The Divine Mother herself asked me to say this truth about you. And She has never lied to me.”
